OK... so who knows which it is? Is it a frog still with it's tadpole tail or is it a baby newt?

Frog I reckon!
Hi Sue... that was what we thought too... but there does seem to be a difference of opinion on it. Unfortunately we won't know... but there are both in the pond.
My DH is a zoologist/herpetologist and he says it's a frog.. so there!
