the top two look like chair seats with white paper strips on them.... but then I'm wondering parquet flooring.
I really thought several of you would have one of thes!. It started out as the scanned top of a knife block I just bought after my breadknife broke. There is a pic of the whole thing in my album on Artful Dodgers.
At least Helen guessed it was wood!

Hi Dorothy,
I just love the idea of your picture puzzle. I think it would be a great thing for our DOT group to do. (Designs on Textiles group based in Nottingham). We are currently playing a game of consequences with an image of a cactus which is sent to all of our members. Would you mind if I pinch your puzzle idea and use it for our next on line round robin challenge?
By the way, I love your photography, some simply stunning images.
